The relationship that you have with you partner is the most important relationship that you have in your life, nothing is more important. People come and people go, your kids will grow up and go, at the end of the day it will be just the two of you for what could be decades. Do you not think that it makes good sense to look after your relationship?
We all live busy lives, and as your relationship develops so do the demands on your time and it is not always easy getting time to yourselves. If you want to revitalize your long term relationship to succeed then you have to make time for each other, even if it means putting it down in a schedule. For your relationship to survive you must maintain a connection with each other. If you do not talk together then you will have difficulty in dealing with problems, more importantly you will have no connection with your partners life, who they are or what they want and need, without a connection you will continue drifting apart. You need to spend quality time together which even if it is just going for a walk you need have a date a week. I think that well all have our own ideas of what love and romance is. Some of what we do is what we do is classical love and romance, on the other hand your partner could have ways of showing love that are very subtle and unique to them. It is possible that you might think that your partner does not show you any love and affection whilst they are going, I do, I do. If you have your own way of doing things then that is fine, but please remember that your partner needs to understand and feel loved so try and be a bit more obvious! We all need that special someone that we can share our lives with and be vulnerable with. We need to feel desired and wanted by our partner. Let your partner know what they mean to you, show your appreciate for them and make them feel special, hold them, tell them that you love them, it does not matter what you do, so long as your partner knows that you care.

Try and work to recapture that sense of excitement that you had in the early days, if you had some significant dates back then why not recreate them.
You are NEVER to old to date. There is no law that says that you are ever to old to have fun and enjoy life. Find things that you can do together, try and share each others interests (no matter how boring they look from a distance you might be surprised) and learn to enjoy being in each others company again.
